Books: What I Read in 2019!
If you read my 2020 goals post - you know that last year I had a goal to read 6 BOOKS.
(if you haven't read that post - go check it out here!)
I didn't complete 6 books...
but
- I completed 5 books
AND
AND
- I read or listened in an additional 3 books (completed one of those earlier this week and finishing that seventh one this week!)
From reading MAYBE one book a year since college, I was pretty proud of that!
So what did I read?
Glad you asked!
Here are the 5 that I completed:

I joined a book club in the spring of last year, so three of these books came from there!
It was so fun to read books that I probably wouldn't have picked up on my own!
1. Girl Stop Apologizing
{personal development}
If you are struggling with your purpose or schedule - you NEED to read this book.
If you're not struggling, but want to improve some areas of your schedule or life - you NEED to read this book!
2. The Immortalists (book club)
{mystery, drama, some erotica, romance}
This book was interesting.
It was super long - but you are following the lives of the 4 children in the book through their young adult & adult lives.
The random erotica was surprising - but you could skip through that.
How different each of the kids grow up to be because of the experience they they all had together at the start of the book is what is so intriguing.
3. Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows (book club)
{mystery, erotica, drama}
The title is kinda deceiving.
Yes it does involve erotic stories - they are from a story writing class for Punjabi widows. The mystery and suspense that develop in the story when secrets start unfolding sucks you in!
4. High Performance Habits
{personal development & leadership}
One of the most powerful and insightful books about personal development and leadership that I've ever read. I had the opportunity to hear the author speak at the end of last year and this book was even more impactful than I expected! I plan to make this something I read and learn from every year.
If you are an audiobook person, you can listen to it for FREE on Brendon Burchard's podcast! Just scroll back to April 2018 - it's titled Audiobook: High Performance Habits!
5. Where'd You Go, Bernadette (book club)
{mystery, drama, humor}
I fell in complete love with this book! Bernadette and her daughter "B" are such great characters - I felt like I had known them for years! This was the best all around drama - it had humor, mystery, romance... everything!
If you saw the movie - give the the book a chance. It's so much better (as is always the case)!

The other books I started, but didn't quite finish by the end of 2019 are:

I've always enjoyed Beth Moore - but I feel like this one is a little different.
It wasn't my favorite - but it was still good.

I'll be finishing this one this week!
DISCLAIMER: I do not physically read all of these. Audible (through Amazon) has become one of my favorite things! I am in my car a lot so it is super easy to just turn a book on while driving or even put headphones in and listen while I'm doing dishes, cooking, cleaning or even working!
Now I know you've read my 2020 goals post by now
(if not, what are you waiting for?! Go check it out!) so you know:
My goal for this year is to read 10 books!
And so far this year, I've read:

The book club I'm in has the next 2 picked out, and I have a few of my own picked out to read as well but I'd love to hear ALL the book suggestions!
